Buffalo Chicken Tenders (Air Fryer) 🔥🍗
Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) chicken tenders (or sliced chicken breast)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 cup buttermilk (or regular milk)
- 1 egg
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (for extra crispiness)
- 1/2 cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp honey (optional, for a slight sweetness)
- Cooking spray
Instructions:
- Preheat Air Fryer: Set to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease the basket.
- Set Up Breading Stations:
- In one bowl, mix flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- In another bowl, whisk buttermilk and egg.
- In a third bowl, place panko breadcrumbs.
- Coat the Chicken:
- Dredge each chicken tender in the flour mixture.
- Dip into the buttermilk mixture.
- Roll in panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
- Air Fry:
- Place chicken tenders in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Lightly spray with cooking spray for extra crispiness.
- Cook for 10 minutes, flip, and cook for another 5–7 minutes until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Make the Buffalo Sauce:
- In a small bowl, mix hot sauce, melted butter, and honey.
- Coat the Tenders:
- Toss the crispy chicken tenders in the buffalo sauce or drizzle over the top.
- Serve:
- Serve immediately with ranch or blue cheese dressing and celery sticks.
