Buffalo Chicken Tenders (Air Fryer) 🔥🍗

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) chicken tenders (or sliced chicken breast)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk (or regular milk)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (for extra crispiness)
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp honey (optional, for a slight sweetness)
  • Cooking spray

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Air Fryer: Set to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease the basket.
  2. Set Up Breading Stations:
    • In one bowl, mix flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
    • In another bowl, whisk buttermilk and egg.
    • In a third bowl, place panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Coat the Chicken:
    • Dredge each chicken tender in the flour mixture.
    • Dip into the buttermilk mixture.
    • Roll in panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  4. Air Fry:
    • Place chicken tenders in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
    • Lightly spray with cooking spray for extra crispiness.
    • Cook for 10 minutes, flip, and cook for another 5–7 minutes until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  5. Make the Buffalo Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, mix hot sauce, melted butter, and honey.
  6. Coat the Tenders:
    • Toss the crispy chicken tenders in the buffalo sauce or drizzle over the top.
  7. Serve:
    • Serve immediately with ranch or blue cheese dressing and celery sticks.
